Coach Zygmunt will lead a 5-day training camp at SPS. The camp will be limited to just 12 athletes. 

Coach Zygmunt is an Olympic & World champion and former Head Coach of the Polish and USA National & Olympic teams and also member of the IWF Hall of Fame.

The camp is open to all levels of both local and national level weightlifters.

Over the 5-day camp athletes will have focused work on both snatch and clean & jerk technique. Strength and accessory movements. Mobility work. ncludes attendance to the programming for Weightlifting Seminar and Workshop.  

Athletes will have 5 days of training under Coach Zygmunt, following a camp training plan laid out by the Hall of Fame coach.  Along with the training time athletes will be able to discuss individual goals, areas of their training which need improvements, and be able to ask Coach Zygmunt about his lifetime of experience in the sport.

Friday April 6, 530pm-800pm

Programming for Weightlifting workshop will help coaches and athletes understand and develop an effective training plan for best performance. Stay healthy, address technical challenges, and peak athletes for competition day.

This will be both a practical and theoretical workshop. So come ready to take notes and get a light workout in.

Coach Zygmunt Smalcerz is considered one of the best weightlifting coaches in the world, with decades of experience at the highest levels in the sport of weightlifting. This seminar is a perfect opportunity to learn to be a more effective coach and a smarter athlete.

1-Day Masters Olympic Weightlifting Camp

With Zygmunt Smalcerz and Oscar Chaplin III

Sunday April 8, 9am-4:30pm

1-Day Masters Weightlifting Camp with Coaches Zygmunt Smalcerz and Oscar Chaplin III. $389

This 1-day camp is exclusively for masters weightlifters. The camp will cover the snatch and clean & jerk, technical fixes, focused mobility work, strength and accessory movements, and effective programming for masters. Including new knowledge on how to prepare your body for the rigors of Olympic weightlifting as a masters athlete. Both in the short term of preparing for the day’s training, and in the long term of keeping your body healthy. With plenty of time for questions and answers from two of the most experienced weightlifting coaches.

The day will broken into 3 sessions.

Session 1 will be led by Matthew O'Neill of Bay Area Biomechanics, as he goes over effective warm ups, mobility work, prehab and rehab strategies for master athletes.

Session 2 & 3 will be with Coaches Zygmunt and Oscar of focused dedicated weightlifting and technique training.

Coach Zygmunt Smalcerz is an Olympic & World champion and former Head Coach of the Polish and USA National & Olympic teams and also member of the IWF Hall of Fame. He is also considered one of the best weightlifting coaches in the world, with decades of experience at the highest levels in the sport of weightlifting. 

Oscar Chaplin III is a Former coach at the Olympic Training Center. 2-Time Olympian, USAW Hall of Fame, Junior World Champion, current American record holder.  Oscar currently coaches the weightlifting team at SPS and has been a coach at numerous camps both at the Olympic training center, but also at SPS. 

Matthew O’Neill (M.S. in Kinesiology, C.S.C.S), combine the science of biomechanics with the principles of strength and conditioning.  Matt has worked with all level of athletes to amateur to professional,  using a comprehensive approach that includes identifying and reinforcing proper movement mechanics, promoting optimal muscular function, and building strength in the appropriate muscle groups.
